Mountain sun and alpine air

The Sarentino Alps are a paradise for all walkers: blooming meadows of Alpine roses, rushing brooks and untouched nature as far as the eye can see. Well-marked paths lead to countless peaks.
But it's not just walkers that love the mountains here, there is lots to do and see for Mountain Bikers as well. And for everyone who likes to stay active but at a lower altitude, there are tennis courts, a swimming pool and several walking routes in the immediate vicinity of the Hotel Gasthof Höllriegl***s.

On Wednesday evenings in high Summer the "Virwitzmitte" are held, special evening events that include shopping opportunities, special food, music and all kinds of entertainment.

Fun in the snow, among the smell of Christmas cookies

Advent is truly festive in Sarentino: Beautifully decorated stands offer traditional handmade products as part of the Alpenadvent festivities, and the smell of freshly baked cookies and beautiful Christmas music waft through the air. On Thursday evenings during Advent you can see a truly ancient custom of the Sarentino valley, the so-called "Klöckeln" or "knock". Creating quite a din, men in costume go from house to house, singing the traditional "Klöckellied" to warn away evil spirits.

For powder fans, the nearby Reinswald skiing area awaits, with its wide, sunny slopes. Skiing, sliding and finally lying in the sun near one of the rustic mountain refuges: now that's how it's done. In the Pennes valley, you can see the area from cross-country skis and in Sarentino there is a very nice skating rink.
